The opening meeting of our ‘Vocational Sign Language on Palliative Care’ project was held in Lisbon on 27 February 2025, hosted by the project coordinator, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), with the participation of all partner institutions.

​The first part of the meeting commenced with opening speeches, followed by introductory presentations from all project partner organisations. Following the presentations, the Project General Coordinator, Mr Paulo Vaz de Carvalho, provided information on the project's aims and objectives, the tangible results to be produced, project management, the budget, and reporting processes. During the meeting, which included deaf participants from different countries, multilingual sign language interpretation was provided in real time.

​In the second part of the meeting, a project presentation was made to an academic and scientific community comprising over 200 participants. This activity was conducted hibrit, with simultaneous sign language interpretation provided and questions from participants answered. The dissemination efforts for our project, whose results are eagerly awaited, commenced with this first meeting.
